Chocolate Chip Banana Cookies

  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup ripe banana, mashed
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F and coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  2. In a small bowl, cream the butter and sugar until it becomes light and fluffy. Add and beat in the eggs, banana, and vanilla.
  3. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture and mix it well. Add and stir the chocolate chips.
  4. By tablespoons, drop the batter onto the baking sheets 2 inches apart. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until the edges lightly brown. Place the cookies on wire racks to cool.
