New Food Allergy Support Group in CT
Food allergy mom Victoria Serafino couldn't find a food allergy support group after the diagnosis of her daughters dairy allergy. Her first allergy experience landed her and her daughter in the hospital and life became increasingly difficult after that.
After several frustrating situations and no one to turn to for support, Victoria started her own Food Allergy Support Group in Danbury, CT.
The Fairfield Food Allergy Community is to hold its first meeting on March 25th at 7pm at the Danbuy Methodist Church. The goal of the group is education and to brainstorm ideas.
The group also has it's own Facebook page where anyone can become a fan and learn more about their meetings and what they are doing to help raise food allergy awareness. Search “Fairfield Food Allergy Community” in Facebook.
If you can't find a food allergy support group in your own area, follow Victoria's lead and consider starting your one. Many churches, schools and other organizations will offer meeting space free of charge. Or contact the Asthma Allergy Foundation of America or the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network to see if they have plans of starting a group near you.
