End Allergies Together (EAT) has launched its "Do Your 17" campaign to raise awareness of the estimated 17 million Americans who suffer from food allergies. The campaign encourages people to do 17 of something and pledge support by raising money to end food allergies.
Starting May 1, participants are encouraged to do something 17 times. Anything. Go to 17 yoga classes, swim 17 laps, read 17 chapters, bake 17 cakes.. whatever they'd like. Then let people know what they're doing and share the EAT fundraising page, which can be personalized to document the participant's own "do 17" item.
The DoYour17.com campaign just wants you to do something 17 times.
EAT estimates that the annual research gap in finding treatments and cures for food allergies is $400 million. Their goal is to raise money to help fill that gap with 100 percent of donations to EAT going towards research.
