The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America has released its State Honor Roll list comparing all fifty states plus the District of Columbia for quality of school asthma and allergy policies.

Ten new states have been added during what AAFA calls a "record year for medication access." The report for 2014 analyzes state school systems on 23 core policy issues that affect kids and adults with asthma and allergies.

The list for this year contains nine states, including the District of Columbia, on the Honor Roll. These jurisdictions have implemented at least 18 of the 23 core policy standards upon which the AAFA judges for inclusion.

New additions from the 2013 Honor Roll include Mississippi and West Virginia. The complete list of 2014 State Honor Roll choices are:

  • Connecticut
  • District of Columbia
  • Massachusetts
  • Mississippi
  • New Jersey
  • Rhode Island
  • Vermont
  • Washington
  • West Virginia
