erik, thank-you. I was hoping it might be helpful. I'd like to re-raise the cross-reactive thread as well.
I know a couple of years ago there was one member who really wanted part of the board to be devoted to multiple food allergies because she was dealing with more than PA or even PA/TNA and it's posted somewhere on this board (just can't remember where) that we were going to approach Chris about that. I don't know if it ever happened.
That may even be why (the other member's and my discussion in another thread) I raised this question.
I also don't see why, if there isn't a section of the discussion board devoted to MFA's that it couldn't be a thread running in Off Topic. I've personally never felt the need to start that because I'm dealing solely with PA (touch wood) right now. But someone else certainly could and no one would say anything nasty about it.
I'll get my head bitten for this one, but I don't even know if POFAK could be useful to a MFA adult. Simply because of it's title Parents of Food Allergic Kids, I'm sure to get bitten for that one, but still.
If it were me (which it isn't), I would raise MFA's as an Off Topic thread. There is SO much support (and all those other words I regularly use) here and not simply for PA.
My dog stole a chicken breast out of the kitchen earlier (cooked). I have to find out where he went to eat it. I know he scarfed it down somewhere, leaving an upturned plate on the floor, but I don't know if he ate the bones or not. Little bug.

As a PA/TNA adult, I have to say Cindy (and Erik too) that I found a ton of support on this board, even though it was me and not my son that's PA. Everyone here has always been most helpful, and even with the issues I've had with my child (learning disabilities), everyone was very understanding and empathetic.
With my figuring out my allergies as well, everyone offered much support and advice.
You can only do so much, and then people have to help themselves. As much as I love PA.com, the internet is a poor choice for the ONLY support system to have. Supplemented by family, friends, etc being around you it's great-but relying solely on the Net to bring you advice and link you to people is a bad idea, I think. I hope silly feline finds what she needs. But really, at this point I don't think the Net has what she's looking for.

There is an email list (and also a corresponding bulletin board) which was originally for multiple-food-allergy adults and teens, but is open to parents of FA children.
It's called FAST .
When folks with PA show up over there, I frequently refer them to this site, as it's far more specific.
It's a useful site for those of us who aren't kids or parents. There are plenty of parents there, too, but not so many that those of us who aren't kids feel outnumbered.

15 year old boy: milk (CAPRAST Class 6), egg(CR 4), peanut(CR Class 4), tree nuts(CR Class 2-4), coconut(CR class 2 - avoid due to anaphylactic reaction age 11 months), shellfish(CR class 2 - completely avoid since it's fairly easy - we'll possibly challenge a shell fish but DS not too interested). He has a CapRast Class 3 to Wheat but since it doesn't cause breathing problems and he avoids so many other foods, he's decided to keep eating it - might be a source of his of Eczema.
