Peanut Butter and Seizures

My peanut allergic daughter suffered from a severe seizure when she was 13 months old. We had to administer CPR, she turned grey, it was awful. She was hospitalized for 24 hours, but none of the tests showed anything. We chalked it up to being a freak thing. Later we found out that there are peanuts in hamster food. My daughter experienced her seizure very close to a hamster cage, where there was food,etc. on the floor. I always felt that there must have been a link. She has never suffered a seizure before or after that one incident. Could this have been an allergic reaction?? Anyone else experience seizures??

I have heard of a special diet for pediatric epilepsy called a ketogenic diet (I'm not sure of the spelling). I have no idea of whether peanuts are included or excluded from the diet. Much of the research related to the diet is out of Johns Hopkins. There was a TV movie about a child who was helped by the diet a year or two ago, something about the mother researching and finding this diet and having to fight her childs' doctors to try it before they resorted to surgery to stop her child's seizures.
I think I watch too much TV.

I have something very similar to seizures, along with severe allergies to peanuts. I too, think there is a link between the two things. Hopefully, in the future more research will be done on this.

My nephew has seizures and is peanut allergic, but he also has a lot of other allergies. He was born two weeks before my pa son in the same hospital.
