I have sent Smarties and some other nut free candy across the border to a couple of U.S. families recently. I think California Mom and I started this whole idea! Anyways, there is no regulation forbidding sending the candy. The Canadian sender must fill out a form specifying the package contents and declaring who it is from and its value. To do this you must go to a postal outlet and request a form. It is easy to do and my son was really excited to help 2 other children with allergies.

Kathyrn, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to step on anyone's toes by starting this thread. I just know that it had been mentioned in several other threads. If you would like to co-ordinate the Americans with the Canadians, that would be great. As I stated above, if anyone else wanted to do it, it would be fine with me, but I simply started the thread (as I often do with good questions other people have where I don't really require an answer for myself, but know that they'll be good discussion topics). Anyway, I didn't mean to offend or upset you and if you'd like to take the co-ordination part over, please let me know. So, as it stands, I have 3 Americans wanting Smarties, 0 Canadians. Also, AmyR, congrats on finding a Canadian who is going to send some to you! It's not only PA Parents that love Smarties! Kathyrn, again, please let me know and accept my apologies, I simply started the thread because the Smarties thread kept coming up on the Daily Topics every couple of days. Best wishes! I am an American living in Canada. I would be happy to mail Smarties to anyone across the border. We also have family coming up here in November and we will be going "home" in December, so if there is someone in the Portland, Oregon area we can just transport them and save postage. Otherwise, I'd be happy to mail them out. A case at Costco is about $23 CN if anybody wants that many! Keep me posted...

SueQ you are officially matched up with Trace's Mom. I looked and I know that one of you does not have your e-mail available, so I will contact the one that does and you can get the necessary details on such an exchange together. Best wishes! Trace's Mom - you have been "officially" paired with Sue Q to send her some Canadian Smarties. I have e-mailed her to advise her of this. However, because you do not have an e-mail listed (neither do I), could you please contact Sue Q at the e-mail that she does have listed and work out the arrangements of your sending the Smarties (i.e., address, etc.). Thank-you. So, at this time, 2 Americans needing, 0 Canadians posting! Best wishes!

Matt's Mom and Redtruck, you are officially paired! Both of you have e-mails listed, so please contact one another to work out the semantics!
Redtruck, yes, I meant to only check, but every time I close the PA site I have new messages in my e-mail inbox bringing me back into it (picture scene with Al Pacino in kitchen in The Godfather Part III!). LOL. No, I hadn't meant to be in here this often, sorry. Best wishes!

If anyone in the Boston area is interested in getting Smarties, I can order extra from the person I "know" in Canada and get them to you. Just let me know.

In answer to Cindys question about 10 posts ago, i dont presently make trips to windsor often, but i have no problem doing so, i was thinking i could go to costco and get a case every couple months or so. i think this may also save on international shipping.

End of Monday, October 23rd - I need one Canadian to pair with Cartersmom. Also, kudos to both AmyR and Shannon for their great help on this thread, and again, my apologies to Kathyrn if I have stepped on your toes. I need one Canadian! Best wishes!
