Well, I'll throw my hat in the ring for this one too.
I'm French-Canadian (a wee bit of German thrown in there way back) and dh is a Scottish/French mix.
Neither of us are blonde or blue eyed. Taran, our PA/TNA son is a blue-eyed blonde. I however am the one he inherited the asthma, eczema and allergies from. Dh does have asthma on his side too, but doesn't know of anyone with food allergies.
Cool stuff here!
Our PA son also got all the "recessive genes," and we, too, joked about that before the allergy was known.
He is fair-skinned, slight, and a real blondie. And yes, he has the long eyelashes too! LOL! My husband is half German, which makes our son 1/4.
(The rest of us however, do not fit the bill, though!)
Mattsmom ... Now WE really DO sound like we are related!! Are you living my life?? We can describe our family and our son the same way you have. Our son is actually going through three days of testing next week to determine if he has some kind of learning difference. Interesting stuff ... It really can make a difference in those months when they get so frustrated because they don't have enough language!)
jh5000 ... I do not know if you are still around here, but I have to tell you that I laughed out loud at your statement for so long, that my son got the giggles just listening to me have the giggles!!!

What an interesting topic! I'll add our info in here too to help out the stats. My PA daughter is blue-eyed, fair-skinned and strawberry blonde, but she is built like an Amazon (almost 20 lbs. at 8 months!). She inherited her complexion and her build from her of-German-descent Daddy. I am small-boned but tall (5'8")and of Scottish, Irish and French descent. I don't know actual IQs for our family, but DD does seem incredibly intelligent; others have always commented on her alertness. Thanks for starting this interesting thread!

Bringing this up again because it's just so interesting and has been on my mind lately. I would love to see the stats here summarized. If someone else doesn't get to it first, I'll give it a try.
Take care,
Tammy
Hoping to squeeze in my stats before they are tallied...
I am of Irish, German and French descent and fall into the "petite mom" category,(5'2" when I stretch a wee bit. ) and small boned, but I ate peanuts like a fiend while pregnant and breastfeeding and took a prenatal vitamin with peanut oil. My husband is of Irish, English and German descent, and is 6'2". Joshua is pretty tall for his age, and is a blond-turning-brunet and is blue-turning-hazel eyed. He does have long eyelashes. He is the only one in our immediate family with food allergies,
though he has an aunt and an uncle allergic to mushrooms and shrimp respectively.
This is a fascinating thread!
I'll come in, too, although Kylie is TNA, not PA, so you may want to omit her stats if this is a strictly PA survey. I am almost 100% German, and Jim is half Irish and half mix of Scandinavian/French/something else. My allergies are seasonal, a lot of sinus and nose stuff going on all summer. I did react with hives all over when 8 years old from a bee sting. Have not been stung since. Jim suffers a lot from seasonal allergies as well and takes tons of drugs. Neither of us has a food allergy. The only relative I know of with a food allergy is my mom's sister, who is allergic to shellfish. Kylie is 5 years old, tall, thin, blonde, very fair, gray eyes, and gets huge welts when bitten by mosquitoes. She's anaphylactic to cashews and pistachios. She has a teenaged half-brother who also has a lot of trouble with seasonal allergies. I don't really remember what I ate during pregnancy, but I do remember having almond butter and cashew butter in the house.
Well, I was in awe as I read this. I am 5'1 and very petite. My husband and I are both Gifted and our PA son is blond, blue eyes and has the most massive eyelashes you have ever seen! My decendants are Irish and German, but I don't know about my hubby!
Very strange, huh?
Alicia
I'm 5'1 110 lbs, so I'd fit the petite mother aspect. My son and I both have very long eye lashes. I've had eczema all of my life, he has it too. I also have environmental allergies. Our skin is very fair and he has light brown hair. My sister who has virtually no allergies has olive skin, no eczema and doesn't have the long eye lashes. Odd. My husband is also fair skinned and he is 5'9 but with a bigger build, his only allergy is to sygamore (sp) trees. Our ethnic background is mostly German and French.
We are also extremely fair skinned sometimes have even gotten comments from teachers. My PA, son who is 5 , seems like more boys than girls have pa, has red hair freckles, my dd who is tree nut allergic, strawberry blonde , 8 yrs.old. We are english, irish, swedish, scotch, and a little german from dh side.
