I have a teenage son that is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. He's a swimmer and I go to a boot camp class. I would like to find a peanut/ tree nut free protein powder that we can both take. Are there any protein powders that you can recommend?

Question of the Week: Answered!
Every week, PeanutAllergy.com answers one of the questions posted in our community.
Our Answer:
Thank you for reaching out with your question. It is wonderful that you are both exercising! After all, staying healthy is a great way to remain happy and stress free, as well as resist unhealthy weight gain (a suspected side effect of food allergies).
As for your question, while we do not know of a specific peanut-free brand, we believe this would be a great question for your child’s allergist. He or she will likely have some idea of the types of protein powders are safe for people with allergies.
In the meantime, you can check out this forum for some great peanut free protein bars. Also, we posed your question to our Facebook community and this is what they had to say.
We hope this information helps. Take care!

Hello writer!
I've found that the UMP protein by Beverly is great AND has several flavors totally nut-free, tree nuts or peanuts.
It's available directly from Beverly or through Amazon at a decent price.

Quest makes three different flavored in protein powder. Totally free from nuts and soy. Don't order the Quest protein bars though, the taste is hard to get down. Their protein powders mix well in liquid and I also add it to many of my recipes so I know they are getting enough protein. Love the vanilla. Hope this helps. Karen

This is a great brand, especially for kids: https://nutracelle.com/pages/allergies
And I like that all of their products are totally peanut-free.
