Hi, I have an 11 y/o ds with a peanut allergy. He has never had a "severe reaction", just hives on his face...never anaphylaxis. He has never needed to use his epipen. He has had 2 skin test, one at age 4 and one at age 9. The one at age nine was very positive... over the 4plus mark. He has had 3 caprast tests... initially it was in the 20's (age 8), then 37 (age 9), then this year it went to greater than 100 ( just got news today). The office called to tell us that the oral challenge that they wanted to do this fall would not be done due to his high caprast result. Does anyone know if these caprast tests are strongly indicative that he could have a severe reaction. We are not super diligent in our home.. we have 2 other ds's who eat peanut butter.. ds has never had a problem and I'm sure at some point he has been exposed in some way to peanuts or nuts. Sorry to be so long winded. Thanks for reading and nice to connect with everyone!
