Hi,
I am so confused and scared.
I have a 5 year old with no food allergy.
I have a 3 year old with severe peanut allergy, tree nuts allergy, egg allergy and asthma. He had a lot of eczema when he was a baby.
So when my baby girl started showing signs of eczema I was really concern.
I took her to Dr Kay today and she had a positive reaction (skin test) to egg.
We didn't test her for nuts yet. I want to wait on that because she is so little, and I'll be avoiding nuts anyway with her. I don't eat any kind of nuts. I just don't like them at all.
I am breastfeeding and I am going to avoid eggs for 2 weeks to see if it helps with
her eczema.

Have any of you had a child diagnosed this early?

Thanks for your comments.

My son was not diagnosed at 4 months--it took us until he was about 18 months. However--he had eczema from birth and started scratching at his tongue as soon as he started solid foods he is allergic to.
I think with children born after our allergic children--we are more aware.
Keep in mind that external things can cause eczema as well. My son (and many babies) had very sensitive skin. We had to completely green our home. No harsh chemicals, no dryer sheets, dye free chem free soaps and detergents.
This has helped a lot with eczema.
But yes--you can try eliminating a food from your diet one at a time to see if the eczema clears.

Read my blog about vaccinations and food allergies. I believe there is a direct connection between vaccinations and food allergies. Babies are being diagnosed with food allergies at extremely young ages and with foods that the parents have avoided.
I don't believe vaccinations are the only cause of food allergies but I believe they are the main cause. Tylenol has also found to be related to the development in asthma in children.
Antibiotics can kill off the beneficial bacteria in the gut which can cause allergic-type reactions.
