Is anyone familiar with Lorann's flavor extracts for candy making or their baking emulsions? The company provided me with allergen reports (no milk products, egg, corn, peanut, wheat, treenut, seeds)as I have 2 children allergic to treenuts and milk. I rarely see it being mentioned in food allergy forums so Im wondering if anyone is familiar or has any thoughts? I use nielsen-massey vanillas and mccormick orange/lemon extracts but would like to try new flavors for making ice-cream and baking/frosting. I have the Princess Cake and Cookie baking emulsion--it has a citrusy almond smell so Im hesitant. I think I will bring it to allergist next time (with the allergen report)to get their opinion as well. Does anyone use this brand?
Thank you.

In the past I was told that we should avoid. Recently I read that others have been told they're safe. So I don't know if they have changed somehow or some information is incorrect. Are their peanut butter and walnut flavored extracts made from artificial flavors? Or have they discontinued them?

In my email to them, I had asked if there was any flavor I should avoid due to nuts/peanuts/milk and was told that all was free of those allergens. I inquired what the 'natural and artificial' flavors were made from and they couldn't disclose it because it is their 'trade' secret. However, said it was free of nuts/peanuts/milk. I've used some of their flavor oils(cheesecake, caramel, english toffee, bavarian creme and sweet buttery dough) but am hesitant to use the 'princess cake & cookie' extract because of the almond smell. I've read that artificial almond was not safe so I'm hesitant. I think I'll stick to the rule...if in doubt--skip it! Thanks for reading.
