i do not use them either. i called twice though and the peanut butter is in another room. now companies are putting that message on because they want to let severely sensitive people know that there are nuts in the plant. my daughter is not nut allergic and i dont want her having may contains but i think this would be ok. my son doesnt like pretzels so he wouldnt eat them, he is the one with the allergy. my friends nut allergic son eats them everytime he goes there.

I spoke to them when they first started making the PB sandwhich. The manager guy described that the pretzels are made in one very large room. Then the pretzels used for the pretzel sandwiches go up a conveyer belt through an opening into the room where the PB is processed. So, it's not exactly in a completely separate area of the plant. We just buy Utz instead!

I also called and was told that the peanuts were in a separate room. How can they warn us on the label and then when we call they basically tell us to ignore the warning?
I now buy rolled gold pretzils.

We used to buy Snyder's a couple years ago until they came out with the peanut butter pretzel. I was a nervous wreck when I went to grab our 'usual bag of pretzels' and saw the warning.
We now buy Rold Gold(3 years and counting) and haven't had any problems.

Good morning,
I went back and forth on this issue for a while when we were new to the food allergies. What I believe works best is to have the same food for everyone at all times. Our house is completely peanut/tree nut/sesame/soy free. This creates a SAFE and relaxing environment for everyone. I've always had this fear that if for some reason, I was not here (emergency, etc.) my children might be fed the wrong food by accident therefore, all the food in our house is safe. Plus, the allergic child will not feel left out or underpriviledged. We've had many crying sessions because my daughter felt left out when we gather and eat at the in-laws.
When we get together with friends, we always provide the food so all the kids eat the same snacks/meal. That way all of the moms/caretakers can relax and just enjoy each other without having to be on edge in case of a "mix up" with snack. Some moms contribute by buying certain safe brands or just giving $ towards the meal.
I hope this helps, I didn't mean to go on and on.
