I would love to find someone from this area (specifically northern MN, eastern ND) where we are from. It is sometimes hard to find the products in this area that others mention, would like to know what brands people around here use. Can't find bread products, cookie products (Dare)and other things like french fries that people talk about on this site that are safe. Also if anyone belongs to support groups in this area I would love to find one. Thanks!

You might try contacting these groups in MN to see if they know of others there.

My sister lives up in your area, and I know you have different grocery stores than in the Twin Cities area. You don't have a Rainbow Foods around, do you? That's where I've found Dare cookies. Sunbutter is made up in your area, so I'd think that would be available.

tkmom: I am from central minnesota. No Rainbow foods. However, sunbutter is available. Let me know of other products you are looking for and I will help you out if I can.

Hi, I am from central Minnesota. I found Soybutter at Wal-Mart and Sunbutter at Cub Foods.
Cub foods also has a lot of safe things I get there. I buy Home Run Pizza, most of the bread has a warning on the package, the FF I get have a warning on them. Wal-Mart usually has these things too.
I have also found Dare products at Wal-Mart, but haven't looked for them lately.
Thomas Bagels also have a warning on them now.
What are you looking for exactly?

Just wanted to say that we are in the Twin Cities area. I'm afraid I might not have much to add at this point, though; we're new to this and still learning what brands to trust, etc. I had seen websites for the two support groups in MN (that I'm aware of), but I see that someone posted links to their sites above. I wish you luck!

Come on up to Canada, eh?! Winnipeg is just 1 hour north of the border directly north of Grand Forks. We go to Grand Forks (3 hours), Fargo (4 hours) & Minneapolis (8 hours) all the time to go shopping - try coming up here and taking a load back with you. We have all kinds of snacks, cookies, crackers, ice cream novelties and ice creams, chocolate bars, etc., etc. I used to go to the US for low carb stuff that we can't get here and there is no duty or extra charges for groceries - just can't take meat or dairy across the border.

My sister recently told me that she'd tried a Nestle Aero bar that one of her friends gave her. They'd found them at a gas station in the Fargo-Moorhead area, but she didn't know which one. So that's something to keep your eyes open for. Do check the label, as always.
Do you have a Wal-Mart Supercenter around? They have Philly Swirl popsicles and ice cups. They're labeled peanut-free, and my kids love them.

Thanks everyone for your ideas and information. It's hard to get out and do a lot of shopping with a two year old toddler and a three month old baby! Shopping trips are usually short so I never get to spend a lot of time in a grocery store looking over foods. I am afraid to try the Sunbutter for fear that DS will at some point mistake PB for it. Have thought about going to Canada to get some goods (we live about an hour south/east of GF) but it doesn't fit into our schedule anytime soon. Any of you tried Pizza Corner frozen pizza? Or Picadilly pizza? What about Happy Joe's pizza and ice cream parlor? Crystal Farms is a brand around here-do any of you trust it for cream cheese? What about a good allergist around this area-thinking about changing, not all that happy with the one we have seen. Thanks everyone!
