I didn't want to post any "personal" info about you and your location isn't in your profile, so I quickly changed it to be generic. Guess I'm paranoid at this point.
the info for the bill is in the legislature thread!
Also, what ever happened with your son and the meds the doctor was going to put him on?
Thanks, I did see the info on the bill - I emailed and I will be calling today!
And thanks for asking about my son We wound up for now just getting him an inhaler (my suggestion). Since his pneumonia cleared, his day to day asthma has been better. I told the dr we were not in favor of a daily steroid for him, and asked about him having an inhaler - his symptoms are usually only bad at night, and now it is much easier to wake him and just let him take a few puffs rather than do a whole nebulizer treatment!
Re: the teacher, she emailed me back this AM thanking me for reminding her about V Day coming up, and at her request, the principal is going to resend the original letter as a reminder. I'm still planning to pop in and touch base with her this week. Thanks again all for your suggestions

It might be helpful for it to be worded that this not only protects food allergic students, but the entire nation is concerned about childhood obesity and its connection to junk food (I'm sure you can easily find links to news stories about this if you think that would be helpful). There might be more of a cooperative attitude if it's pointed out that this policy is beneficial to all students.
