ARGHHHHHHH!!!!!
Check out the new 'allergen info' on the website.

Please write to BEG them not to do this!!!
(Our Canadian members were successful with a campaign like this to Nestle some years back....)
I have no clue what else we can offer DD.
Because of her other food allergies, NOTHING else like this is safe.
I'll stockpile them, of course, but eventually we'll run out. Even more horrifying is the thought that some PA child (and adult who has just read the peanut-free box too many times)will assume that these are still the same safe treat they've always been. I hate when I see this. I will write but I am in Canada. (they probably don't care). You could try and order wagon wheels from here. They look like the same thing and are nut free.

Thanks for the info. My son loves these and I just put them on the safe list for preschool.
I'm very frustrated about this.

Well, I guess I don't get what changed in the facility that wasn't there before???
If you haven't heard about this change, people, this is HUGE.

They are going from an entirely PEANUT-FREE manufacturing environment (one that sold them a LOT of product, I might add.... it was right there on the label!) to one that SHARES LINES with PEANUTS.
A message concerning the change in the MoonPie allergen policy was also posted on the "Products" board, and several people are contacting the company.
just emailed them...
Here's the response I got:
Thank you for your note. As mentioned, we are evaluating PB concepts for non-MoonPie
branded contract manufacturing customers. There will be no PB in the plant until
Summer, 2008 at the earliest. 90 plus days before we bring any in, we will update the
statement on the website. In an abundance of caution, and given the length of time
it sometimes takes to get revised packaging into the market, you'll begin to see the
new peanut statement this Fall. Again, we are evaluating options in the lab, and
will make the website announcement months before there's any remote chance of
production with PB on our manufacturing line. Earliest possible production is Summer, 2008,
with a spring website update.
This actually made me cry. Something we buy boxes of -- weekly. Why the HE11 should I cry over a (&*% MoonPie??
Have a blessed day,
Bridget
Edited: I posted before reading the whole thread. Someone had already answered my question.
Anyway I emailed as well and got the response that my email had been forwarded to the marketing department. I
I am so sick of all the peanuts everywhere. It is really distressing!
I just emailed them and will let everyone know if they email me back!
