I have often wondered how many classrooms have multiple food allergic children in their classroom. Anyone else have experience with this?
Any non-peanut allergies in your child\'s class?

There is one boy in my son's school in an older grade who is allergic to many things - wheat, dairy, eggs, pn, tn and some fruits. Funny, I do not see him at the PN-free table. I will have to look into that.
There is a boy in my son's kindergarten class who is allergic to milk as well as to peanut. He sits with my son at the peanut-free table in the cafeteria. When my son was in Preschool, there were two kids (brothers) with MFA.
in dd's class: dd is p/tn and soy
one girl:tn, shellfish and some fruits,
boy: milk
and a diabetic child also
Thanks for the replies. I was interested in how schools were working to accomodate all children no matter what their allergy.
My child actually has MFAs,EFAs and animals allergies but the school only takes into consideration the PA. So, have had doctors write letters to make them aware of all the allergies. The school doesn't do any "free of" classrooms, say they can't but put some safeguards in place. In fact, upcoming event might have animals in the school and child has severe allergies and asthma to animals. School chooses not to care or get it. UGH!
Animals in the school can cause so many problems for so many children. I understand your frustration. They aren't allowed to bring in any animals to my dd's class. My dd has had more reactions which include asthma with animals than peanuts. Not that they are more serious just more prevalent with my dd. I am glad your dr. has sent them letters re: all allergies.
No other FA's in DS class, but one boy has a severe cat allergy & asthma. There is one other boy in his grade with a PA who sits at PF table only sometimes, and another boy in 1st grade who doen't ever sit there- we know his family thru sports teams & they are a lot less strict about his environment and food. There are also 2 boys in DS grade with egg allergy (both have epi's). One of those boys is also very allergic to many animals.
My son also has a kiwi allergy.
Their classroom is PA, TN and kiwi "aware". They won't say "nut-free" or "kiwi-free". However, the teacher does not allow any product in the blatantly contains these items.
