Still steaming & thinking about what I want to say in my letter . . . perhaps equating her "one peanut" to "one gun" since both can be lethal to a child.
One does NOT have to be educated about PA (or any other condition, or color, or sexual orientation, or religion, & so on) to simply NOT be snide in one's PUBLIC, ON AIR comments about accomodations and safety of others. I expect -- and work very hard to instill in my children -- tolerance and understanding and acceptance of ALL people and ALL differences.
FWIW, my original comment above was not intended to be snarky, but was intended to drive the point home in one simple, direct statement of analogy.
Suppose a clip of her on air comment will make it to You Tube??

i encourage everyone to write. They only know that there is a problem if our voice is heard. On Rosie's website she said that discriminates against all allergy people. I am ?sure? that she is joking, but how insensitive. I have attached my letter to the viewmaster and I also wrote to Barbara and Rosie. The more letters the bigger the voice.
Dear View Master,
I am a mother of a peanut allergy three year old and I am very concerned about the comments made on your show today. Rosie was at the height of insensitivity when she spoke of shutting down schools because of peanuts. My daughter, if even exposed to peanuts in the same room, has a reaction and starts to cough and wheeze. Fortunately, she has never had an extreme reaction which could be anaphylactic shock or worse, but I am prepared at all times with her epi pen if it does happen. I am always on my game with her extreme allergy and I expect that the schools will be too. She has a right to a public education that is safe just like every other American child. You didn't discriminate against Rosie because she was gay, why should my child be discriminated against because she is allergic to peanuts. I was so irritated I turned off your show. I used to watch Rosie's show when it was on and loved it. I have been a fan of The View even before Elizabeth, but today I was disheartened, disgruntled, but mostly disappointed. I know that for viewership you hired Rosie to create conflict and raise issues, but I never thought that the advocating of inflicting pain on children would ever be something that you would sponsor. I would love for you to address this on air, because at two different allergy websites you, Rosie, and your show are THE topics that have created the most corrosive conversations today.

I used to love rosie, but am really beginning to hate her. She has got to go. She still loves Tom cruise too, what a weirdo. She should not have the platform she does when she cannot keep her big mouth shut.
I will write the view as well. You can tell Barbara is annoyed with her if you can stand to watch long enough.
