Any good smoothie recipes?

I was wondering if anyone had any good smoothie recipes? Any ideas?

We love smoothies... DD and I both have them for breakfast on a pretty regular basis. I don't know that you necessarily [i]need[/i] a recipe... but
2-4 tbs crushed ice
4-6 frozen strawberries
1 med banana
1 tbs sugar
1- 1.5 c vanilla soy milk (or skim milk, or rice milk, depending upon allergies)
BLEND ON, dude. [img]http://uumor.pair.com/nutalle2/peanutallergy/wink.gif[/img]
You can pretty much put whatever you like in them. Frozen whole berries are particularly nice, but orange juice mixed with a vanilla milk of some kind would probably taste a lot like an Orange Julius.
Sunbutter works well with bananas and adds a nice protein punch. Tofu can do the same thing if you aren't soy allergic. If you can have milk, skim milk powder or yogurt is a great way to pump up the protein. You can sweeten them with honey or sugar-- we tend to use artificial sweeteners instead. Cream can make a smoothie which is almost mousse-like in texture. VERY decadent. But not so healthy or lo-cal. LOL!
Generally 1 part frozen ingredients to 1 part liquid ones works.
We bought DD and I a simple smoothie maker for Xmas this year... I forget what brand it is, but we got it at Target and are so far very pleased with it. It operates inverted on a stable base. It makes large or small single servings and looks like it will work great for pesto, tomato salsas and salad dressings too.

Oh your ideas do sound soooo good!
I kind of winged it this morning with blueberries, vanilla yogurt, a little milk and sugar. It turned out much nicer than I thought it would for a first attempt. My DS thought it was ice cream. LOL
I am now officially addicted to smoothies and can't wait to try some of your ideas, especially the Pina Colada...Yummy [img]http://uumor.pair.com/nutalle2/peanutallergy/smile.gif[/img]

I use a "banana smoothie" powder mix I find in the produce section, and follow the recipe on the back. I use whole milk and sometimes, add blueberries when in season. The mix works for my children, not sure if it would work for all. When I wasn't nursing, hubby and I would spike *ours* with a bit of rum....

Frozen fruit, yogurt, coconut milk (optional), protein powder, and a dash of vanilla. OJ can thin it out, as can regular milk. Sugar is never necessary with all the fruit!

This is what DD had for dinner last night... (we ate a late lunch)...
1 banana
1/4 c crushed ice
1 c vanilla soy milk
3 tbs Hershey syrup (dark)
Just like a chocolate shake... Fabulous.

Here's how I make mine, on an almost daily basis (all measurements are approximate):
1 banana
1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup crushed ice
dash of orange juice
Blend away. Makes 2 kid-size servings. Sometimes I add frozen berries, and use water instead of OJ to thin it out.

we make a few different kinds
banana
vanilla rice milk
strawberries (frozen)
blueberries
yogurt (soy) in our case
or
orange juice
banana
strawberry
I rarely add any sugar but if not sweat enough sometimes put in a little honey. I buy overripe bananas and keep them frozen for smoothies. They are sweater.
