Be REALLY careful on this one as it put us in the hospital once! Oreo cookies are fine and so are gummy bears (or they were once upon a time). But at a birthday party my son received in his "party bag" an oreo cookie/ gummy bear combo product in a little unit-of-use manufactured tin by the oreo company. Well it DID contain peanut oil for some unknown reason and it got by us!!! So as we all would say on this site, always double check!

Yes, we give them oreos, and a few other snacks that DONT say "trace of peanuts". What I find weird is, the apple cinnamon rice cakes by QQuaker says may contain traces of peanut, but the caramel corn ones dont say that, anyone know about the rice cakes?

I do give my daughter Oreos and never had a problem. I do read the labels each time I buy them because Nabisco does make a "peamut butter Oreo." check and double-check!

Coop loves Oreo cookies. Watch out for the "Cookie Bars" About two years ago I read the lable and it contained peanut flour.

Yes, I have found that different flavors of Quaker rice cakes have different warnings (or lack of warnings) on them. So they must label the ones that are made on the same equipment as the ones with peanut butter in them, and the others without the warnings must be made on separate equipment. I like that kind of labeling. We have eaten the Quaker caramel corn rice cakes for that reason. When I e-mailed Nabisco about Oreos, they said we should check the label of each package of Oreos because they will tell you if they ran on the same machines as the peanut butter ones, and that can change at any time. So I do feel fine about feeding my DD Oreos.

Thought I would balance out all the yes'es....
NO!!! We do not give DD Oreo's! Every single time there is a recall, it is a baked good, ice cream, or Asian. Baking cookies yourseelf is not that difficult. Oreo's are not worth my daughter's life.
BTW, there was a recall on Oreo's during the last 6 to 9 months due to peanuts.

With regards to Apple Cinnamim Rice Cakes, my kids love them and we by Safeway brand if you have that grocery chain in your area. They do not make a peanut butter one to my knowledge.

Nope we don't allow PA son to have Nabisco Oreos. Or anything else from Nabisco. I had called them several times on several different items, and I just never liked the answers I got from them. They didn't ever want to come clean on whether or not they were being produced in a facility.... They claimed that their "washing methods" were thorough enough to remove ALL risk, so they didn't feel the need to reveal which products were in safe facilities & which weren't. So the last time I called I listened to their canned response, then gave one of my own. I told them that answer wasn't good enough for some one severely allergic, and that I wanted her to be sure & report that to her superiors, and that we wouldn't be buying anything with the "red triangle" again. My son was too young to read when this all happened, so he still thinks that the red trianlge just means peanuts instead of Nabisco.
Some times I think of trying again, but then I realize that we don't need any of the stuff that they make, it's mostly junk food anyway - I'm better off making a batch of cookies or brownies at home.

Yes, we do. But only the plain or double stuffed and only after RECHECKING the label EVERY time. Nabisco doesn't bold or note 'traces of' for allergens, they just lump pn in the rest of the ingredients if there is a chance for cross contamination. A company I'm always leary of, and always am extra careful to recheck the Oreos label.
