We live in New Albany. I have a DS, soon to be 5 yrs. old that is peanut allergic (ingestion and contact).
I noticed on your profile that you're a teacher. I taught for 9 years until we found out about DS allergy. Since then, I've been a stay at home mom.
Don't you think we need a support group around? I keep running into people that "know" someone with the allergy and etc.

I think a support group would be a great idea. I have a thirteen year old, ten year old, and 15 month old. The two older children are allergic to peanuts. We don't know about Baby Grace just yet. Maybe we could meet in Tupelo sometime for lunch and discuss this. Tell me what you think.
How Wonderful! I am from Pontotoc and would love a support group in this area. I would be willing to help start one. My daughter is 4 and has PA & egg. I am also trying to figure out how to get our schools to be peanut free. I am scared to death for her to start kindergarten!!

When is a good time for you all? Would a week day or a Saturday be better? I'm pretty flexible since I'm not working. Although, on Tue. and Thurs. DS is in a Mother's Day Out and I try to be in town on those days. So, let me know when you all could meet.
Well, I am ready to meet with you all. Since baseball season has started, Saturday is basically out for me. Could we meet during the week sometime? Lets do it soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I live in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. I don't think Tupelo is to far from me at all. I think it is a hour or so but I'm not for sure.
I'm pretty flexible. I prefer to meet during the day if possible. However, I'll do whatever I can.
You all set up a day, place and time and I'll try to meet.
Right now, my father in law is in the hospital and I've got DS B'day next week! So, I'm pretty strapped for next week.
