When I was very young, the pediatrican told my mom I was allergic to peanuts, but no tests were done.
My first trip to an allergy specialist will be coming up in the next two week.
Why? I am now having convulsions when I am exposed...not good......

DD is 10. We've been dealing w/ PA for about 8 1/2 yrs. We were very uneducated in the early years, and don't think I started REALLY getting educated until about 4yrs ago.
We have been dealing with Aiden's PA for just over a year.

18 months!
Edited to add: 18 months since official diagnosis but I was sick for a couple of years prior to diagnosis - I just didn't know why until it got really bad.

30 years. But i guess when i *sort of* started dealing with it would be 15 years ago after an anaphylactic episode and actually being prescribed an epipen. I started getting more basic info. on allergies upon signing up with Anaphylaxis Canada after my allergist suggested it. I *really* started researching allergies in April 2005 (I think that's the date) after allergy expo and I found the website at allergicliving.com. I was referred to this website there! Oct. 2005 was the start of some major allergy angst . . . I was referred to a new allergist on account of getting hives all the time. My allergist ran me through tests and put me on a few foods diet at which point I discovered a few more major allergies (potatoes, corn). I had been diagnosed with a wheat allergy a year or two before that so I was scared that I'd become allergic to more foods.
in december, it will be 10 years that we've been dealing with PA.
