I had just met my DH when I found out I was allergic. I was 26. It was hard for him to adjust to me eating anything then changing to being careful.
DS1 was diagnosed Feb. 27, 2005 breaking out in hives after eating a PB sandwich. He was 21m.
He had shared a PB cookie with DH Nov 2004 w/no reaction. I gave him a teaspoon Jan 2005 for him to taste and me to "test the waters" as you could say; no reaction. No one else in our family has a food allergy (including grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins).
As of Aug 2007, it's been 2yrs 6m and reaction free.

I've had allergies to peanuts, tree nuts, and basically any kind of nut product for 15 years (and counting). =]
25 years, although I wasn't officially diagnosed until about six years ago. "Lucky" and "Stupid" don't even begin to cover the preceding nineteen...
18 years, was born with it.
I was officially diagnosed with PA and TNA almost a year ago (April 24). I found out after the diagnosis that I randomly refused to eat PB and any nuts for that matter when I was three. My parents never bothered to get me tested. I had to do it myself last year after I had a contact reaction while at a conference for school. Since then, I have had two trips to the hospital both accidental exposure.
