There's a kosher bakery named Green and Ackerman, whose products are available mostly in kosher supermarkets. I've been looking at them for awhile, because they make really good Babka and rugelach, and have never seen any products with nuts. Today I finally decided to call, and when I asked about peanuts and nuts the gentleman on the other end gave me an emphatic,"Never! We don't use peanuts or nuts in anything!" Has anyone tried their products?

We get a great babka from a company called "Mrs. Greens" here in CT at our kosher deli. I wonder if they are the same company.

Where in NY is this? The city or in the state of NY?

The bakery is in Brooklyn, but they ship their product all over, mostly to kosher market type stores.

I called them too since I have seen their products in the supermarkets (they look really good!). It was probably about a year or two ago. The man there told me the same thing (no nuts in the facility) although he was not able to tell me if the chocolate they used was safe. I can't remember now what brand he said that the chocolate was but I couldn't find them on the web.

We got the Chocolate Babka yesterday. It must be the same company... and it is our favorite! We have it every Friday night and it is gone by Sunday.

This is great to hear! Can you post any additional contact info on them? Also, any more word on the chocolate products thet use? Maybe this could help with our Bodavi (MA) situation, too.

You should be able to find the info. you need to call them. I actually never asked them about the chocolate, but have never had a problem with it. They are very nice on the phone. Let me know what you find out!
They list all of their products online, and you can buy direct from them. I have only tried their babka and rugelach since that is all I can find locally.
My aunt works in Newton, MA where Bodavi Bakery is. Let me know if you find anything out about the chocolate. She is coming next weekend for the holiday and is bringing Challahs and sweets.
