Do you ask about what brand they serve and if there is a warning on it? I always talk to them about food.... but order milk for him without asking. I noticed some orange juice at the store with a warning on it and wondered about ordering juice in a restaurant.

Is there an oj w/ a warning on it? I've never seen that. Please let me know what brand you've seen that on so I may call or avoid.
No, I never ask about milk or juice but we rarely eat out. Like I said, I've never seen milk or oj w/ a warning so I suppose I've assumed all was safe.
I'd think most juice would be okay but there was something posted about Minute Maid Heartwise juice recently. It contains peanut oil I think? That sounds really gross in any case!
We've been giving our toddler Odwalla orange juice as a treat when we're out and about and hit a Starbucks. It's freshly squeezed and so yummy. It makes the concentrated stuff not so appealing anymore. I will give DS milk that's from a carton when we're out, as well as apple juice that is still in a juice box.
I don't think the juice or milk would worry me too much but we're still new to this as well. Good luck.

Odwalla is good- wish it wasn't so much.
I'll have to check into the heartwise by MM. Would that mean other oj by them could be x-cont? Peanut oil in oj sounds so gross and I would never have thought about it being an issue!
Minute Maid Heartwise is the one with possible peanut/soy in it. Comes in container in refrigerator part. Hope that helps! Yep who would think OJ?
This is from June 30, 2005 regarding the Heartwise Minute Maid orange juice. Clearly a comfort level thing.
FYI- Peanut oil is not a listed ingredient in the orange juice. Plant sterols are, and it is stated that the plant sterols can be derived from soy/peanut .
--------
Be assured that our plants have policies and procedures in place to identify known allergens and takes the steps necessary to eliminate all risks associated with the cross contamination of allergen and non-allergen containing products.
You may be interested to know that plant sterols used in Minute Maid Premium Heart Wise are derived from highly refined vegetable oils including soybean, rapeseed/canola, sunflower, cottonseed, corn and peanut. However, these highly refined soybean and peanut oils, which are two sources of plant sterols, are not considered allergenic foods. Highly refined oils do not contain protein residues at levels that are hazardous to allergic consumers.
We have had experts in the area of food allergy review the process used to produce plant sterols. These experts have determined that there is no risk to allergic consumers.
Plant sterols are naturally found in vegetables, nuts, fruits and grains. The vegetable oil is extracted or pressed from seeds by using mechanical devices. The oil is then refined through neutralizing, bleaching and deodorizing steps. The deodorization step is done under high temperatures and reduced pressure. This final step produces the plant sterols.
We hope this information is helpful. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us again.

I just bought Minute Maid for kids and my son will not drink it! I wonder if it could have peanut oil in it from cross contamination. He loves OJ but will not drink thise kind. Decided to try something new and he will not drink it. He threw his sippy cup in the car and said I don't like it.
Thank you kandomom
Orange juice of all things! Refined or not, I will no longer buy Minute Maid OJ.
Simply Orange is so much better anyway
I'm a little paranoid about Odwalla since they make almond beverages

I haven't called about cross contamination.
