I would like to start by saying this is not a specific religious question so I hope to not offend anyone. I am Catholic but haven't been to church in years BUT do say prayers every night. I am also very open to other beliefs and views. A few months ago I read the Newsweek article on the power of prayer and in the past few years have read additional articles on it. I do believe in the power of positive thinking and that some people and places give off a better "feeling" than others. Without rambeling on, my question to you is do you believe in the power of prayer or positive thoughts directed to the individual that is dealing with an issue such as allergies. Do you beleive this can help the person? What about prayer chains? Candles lit at church?......
Just would like to know your thoughts on this....

I pray and have faith in such, but also *believe* God does not give me more than I can bear. I feel He is a better judge of *my* capabilities and those who are my helpmeet than *I* am. I also am of the belief that unto whom is given much is required, but despite this, I still must respect God's will in my life and I am not more deserving of sucess or happiness than the next person. When God's grace shelter's my life, I am thankful and hopefully, I will remember to thank my Lord in my prayers as well as submit my requests.
*Just thoughts*
A firm believer here. If it matters, I, too, am Catholic.
Mommabear, very nice thoughts!
Rachel
I believe it is only by God's grace that Cam hasn't had a reaction at certain places and with certain people. I believe with all my heart that prayers have what kept him safe.
I believe that God does give us more than we can handle, "We" can't handle anything alone and sometimes we have to be reminded that it's not possible, but only through Him and with Him can we handle the things we are faced with.
The power of prayer is an awesome tool and the relationship is even greater and more fulfulling.

I remind myself that even if I don't *understand* why certain things *are/happen*, I am promised that some day, *all* will be revealed. Imagine, someday, God will explain every question, *personally*, to me. This in addition to reuniting with those I love.
Yes--I believe in prayer!!! Having children with pa has definetly increased my prayer life. God will not give us more than we can handle, but we sure need him to get us through whatever comes our way.
You better believe that I do!!!!!
ditto to what Momma Bear said.
Being the Secretary to our Church, a Sidesperson, a Sacristan and a Server ... perhaps you ought not to ask me
