About an hour after I posted yesterday about us going to Chuck E. Cheese, I went to get Trevor up from his nap, and one whole side of his face was broke out in huge hives, and his eye was a little swollen. I gave him Benadryl right away, and after about 20-30 minutes of trying to get him not to scratch them, they went away, with no further symptoms.

My DH took him straight from the car to his bedroom, and forgot to wash his hands. We are assuming he picked up some peanut residue somewhere at Chuck E. Cheese. He sleeps on his hand depending on which side he sleeps on, and it transferred to his face. I'm so thankful he doesn't put his hands in his mouth anymore, or we would have had a major problem.

This is the first time that we know of that he has reacted to residue. He has had 1 or 2 hives here and there, but his hives have looked different from pn hives and other hives, and these looked like the hives he's had when he came in contact with pn. Dh will be much more careful now to wash his hands! I'm usually the one who does it, but I was busy with my dd, and assumed that he would. Guess I won't be doing anymore assuming Usually when we are in public, we use Wet Ones until we get home and can use the sink. Didn't yesterday, was in a hurry. Won't make that mistake again.

Sorry to hear about the reaction. Is peanut his only allergy? Their pizza crust also contains soy protein concentrate which my son also had a reaction to last year after eating their pizza.

He's fine, thanks. He only ate 3 or 4 fries. All he wanted to do was play . His other allergies are to 4 preservatives.

attlun, I'm so sorry to hear about your son's reaction. Have you reported the reaction to FAAN or Anaphylaxis Canada? Here's why I'm asking. I think it's really important that they hear from us when our children have a reaction period, but especially when it's something that we are told is *rare*, i.e., contact reactions to residue.
I'm glad that your son was okay to-day.
Best wishes!

I wouldn't mind reporting it, but don't know how to go about doing it. If you let me know, I will.
