Ok an update...my aunt who is our designated shopper at Pastryland had a chat with the baker when she was in at the beginning of the month. He was going to close for a week or 2 to rest his shoulder (torn rotator cuff) and the see his doctor again. If the pain did not lessen he was going to need surgery. So if it is not open again now, it might be closed for 6 weeks total or more as he will need surgery. His intention was to re-open ASAP. She will drive by this week and see what is up. Thank goodness I already got those apple pies in my freezer or I would be baking them for Thanksgiving and I do not make a good crust!

I am so jealous of you guys who live close by! I have a sister-in-law in Newton. The next time we go there (but I have not idea when that will be!) I will see if we can check out this bakery.

Well, I drove over by there today. There's a sign on the door saying they have a permit to install a new kitchen exhaust fan. I hadn't read your message Schnook or I wouldn't have made the trip. At least it looks like they'll re-open again!

Aaargh! I was so looking forward to going there over Thanksgiving.
Well, I wish him a speedy recovery, and hope they reopen again soon. May be just the excuse we need to visit Boston again. Maybe in the spring to catch the Sox?

Went by Pastryland and More a few days ago. Looks like they are doing some remodeling. The man that I spoke to that was working there said they would be done in a few weeks and that it is still owned by the same folks.
Great news!
