I have been delighted with the baked goods at Pastry Land N More at 417 Harvard St. in Brookline, MA. 617-278-2400. The shop is owned by a tree nut-allergic pastry chef who has also made the facility peanut-free. On top of all this, it is also Kosher Parve, which means that it is strictly inspected to be dairy-free, too. Believe me -- if you want a level of safety-minded discipline and respect for keeping banned foods out -- you can't ask for any better than a kosher, nut-allergic chef! If you enjoy homey Jewish baked goods such as rugelach, challah and hamentashen -- as well as fancy Parisian-style pastries like eclairs, napoleons and custard tarts -- check this place out! We especially enjoy their fruit pies and tarts. The bakery also has a small eat-in restaurant. If you don't live in Brookline, be sure to CALL before you go over there. The bakery observes the Saturday Jewish Sabbath. It closes several hours before sunset on Fridays and isn't open on Saturdays. They also observe other holidays which you might not be aware of. So, call. Talk to the owner -- a very nice man who knows what people with food allergies go through. Be sure to thank him for deciding to go peanut free!

Hi Jesse'sMom, My son and I go to PastryLand fairly often and have a great time. The owner is a sweetie. There's a thread further down on this page about this bakery - I think quite a few of us from Massachusetts go out of our way to stop in. Glad you posted a reminder! We LOVE this bakery, too. They serve sandwiches and soups and brunch and a great cup of coffee! Don't forget birthday cakes!
Great place I just went I am so happy. What have you guys tried from there??
Hi esmom, we've tried just about all the sweet things - love the danishes, cookies, and turnover type items. We haven't so far tried any breads - and I think I saw bagels too, and there are things for lunch. My son is too excited about the desserts to look beyond that first case when you walk in. Plus, I think those pastries are something I wouldn't try making at home. At least not so far.
Just reraising. We were there today on our annual trek returning from our Maine vacation to New York. My daughter was in heaven and we left with an apple pie, cookies, and sticky buns.
Thanks for the info on this bakery! We had so much fun selecting the cookies and pastries from the case. It was the first time that DS ever ate a cookie from a bakery - it was a really big deal for him and we will make it a regular stop!!! We also tried the bagels and they were great! Thanks for posting such a great find!!!
We'll be going to visit relatives in Needham and friends in Brookline this Thanksgiving, so you know we'll be stopping at Pastryland again. DS will be thrilled. I can't wait too get those rugelach, myself!

Is Pastry Land N More gone?! We went into Brookline yesterday. I called to see what time they close and their phone number has been disconnected. I called Directory Assistance and the operator said she didn't have a listing for Pastry Land anything anywhere in Brookline.
No-o-o-o-o-o-o-ooo!!!
Calling the old number (in this thread), I got the recording that this number has been disconnected or is no longer in service.
Does anyone live/work close enough and have time to drive by the storefront and check it out? Maybe they've moved or started a new business... (hoping, hoping, hoping)
