We're going to Mackinaw Island in August. Has anybody had any experiences there with restaurants or activities which were okay for PA?? We're also driving up from Chicago through Eastern Wisconsin and the Porcupine Mountains and then into the Upper Penninsula. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

We haven't been there since diagnosed with peanut allergy. I do remember lots of fudge shops and they all make peanut and nut flavors. I really don't know how the restaurants will be. No chains up there that I know of. Good Luck and enjoy. It is a beautiful place.

Hi Yonit,
I was born and raised in the UP and spend August in Munising on Lake Superior. (Sydney's restaurant is pretty aware there -- my friend from high school works there and says more and more people are asking allergy questions) We've never brought our kids to Mackinac yet (2 & 4) but am really interested to hear how your trip went and any tips you have. I hope you got good weather -- it was VERY unseasonably cool up there this summer.

Has anyone gone to Mackinaw Island successfully with a peanut allergy??
If so where did you eat or did you bring your own food? I was hoping go there this summer with the husband and kids.
