It's not too late to ask for her to be moved.
I would ask your daughter if this is what she would prefer. If this is something she is totally in agreement with, go for it.
It's your child, don't be intimidated...do what you think is best for your child.
The teacher she has now sounds like she or he has no clue.
We had a teacher like that last year, and this year my kids can stay for lunch because the teacher totally gets it!
As far as some of the problems she may be having..could be because the class is disruptive and she would probably do better in the other class.

My advice is to [b]definitely[/b] switch to the other teacher, if your dd's school will let you.
The vast majority of the school year is still ahead of your dd; it would be a shame to stay with this teacher just to avoid switching her.
My guess is that after a few days in the new class she would be right at home.
I had a similar situation when [b]I[/b] was in 2nd grade. I was unhappy with my classroom and my teacher. (Yes, I still remember this 31 years later!!!) My parents switched me to a different teacher and I had the best year! My only thoughts about the previous class were that I was so glad I had switched out of it.
The other class sounds so much better for your dd.

Well this is beyond my belief. How could a teacher leave behind a student? If I were the teacher I would call role. What irks me is if your kid had a reaction and no one was supervising. Very scary.I would defenitly ask for a new teacher or tell the current teacher you were not happy about the incident quell dommage that this happened. Je suis tres desole.

Thanks for the newspaper article link - I guess there might be alot of parents who might not be thrilled with their child's teacher this year. I will be talking to the teacher tomorrow and I will see what she says.
