We don't trust anything since she got too old to use the Poly-Vi-Sol (which I also called about)
Instead, we feed our dd Vitamin fortified cereals (from GM, naturally!!)like Kix or Chex as a snack food instead of popcorn or tortilla chips. (She likes Clifford a lot) Same difference, IMHO.
Hope this helps.

Today I bought Sea Buddies Daily Multiple vitamin from Whole Foods. I called the company and the lady went over everything with me. There are not peanut and/or tree nut products. The vitamin A is derived from fish liver oil but she assured me there is no fish protein in the vitamin A and in fact, if my son were allergic to fish (he isn't that I know of), he would still be able to take this vitamin. The other ingredient I'm not so sure about is stevia leaf which she said is a natural sugar. What do you guys think?

heather2 - if you have a chance, could you post the contact info; I'd be happy to call to see if I get the same info. Is this a Whole Foods brand or another company sold at the store? Thanks - we're looking for good safe vitamins, too.

It is not a Whole Foods product, just one that I bought at Whole Foods. DS took the vitamin this morning with no problems. In fact he said it tasted good.

Heather2 - I called today, and got mostly the same information. The CSR also said that if the packaging says "made BY" their company, it is produced in their plants; if it is a product that says "made FOR" their company, they contract it out elsewhere and can't guarantee. She could not give any info on all their raw ingredients, as they make several hundred products. She said she'd forward my questions to their "medical education" department and get back to me, but they "would have to call about a thousand distributors to find out which raw ingredients may come from a plant with peanut products." This seems to be the same answer as other vitamin companies I've called, including Bayer and Centrum. I'll post with any other info if she calls back. I think it's always back to comfort level decisions.

Thank you SO MUCH. I'll have to go home and look at the package and see what it says.

OK - FYI, I tasted these vitamins last night for myself and they are gross. They leave the worst after taste. No wonder DS doesn't want to take them. I'm going back to Yummie Bears even though he'll have to take 4 a day.

I have finally found a vitamin that I'm happy with. It's called Animal Parade by Nature's Plus. It doesn't contain aspertame. I called the company and it is safe from peanut/tree nut products so I tried it with my son...he likes them and he's taking them. He does have to take 2 a day but that's ok since they taste good. I bought the orange flavor and tried them myself...they pass the mom taste test.
Correction - it should Nature's Plus not Nature' Path - my mistake.
