Dear Linda,
Thank you for contacting Sesame Place with your questions. Due to the fact that this particular allergy is common in young children, our Culinary Operations Department does not use peanut oil in any of its foods. Only vegetable oil is used in our food items. In addition, you are permitted to bring a packed lunch for your daughter into the park. Though, please note Sesame Place does not permit guests to bring hard coolers into the park (soft, nylon covered coolers are permitted).
If you have any further questions, prior to your visit, please do not hesitate to contact Sesame Place at 215-752-7070.

Glad to hear that. I would love to take my kids there one day before they get too old. Miriam
Hi! As wonderful as the response from Sesame Place was, if it were me, I'd ask them which vegetable is in the vegetable oil. It's great they're allergy aware, but I'd hate to be the one to prove their oil unsafe if the catering mgr. saw "vegetable" and assumed the oil was peanut-free. That's just me, though! Good luck and let us know how the trip goes!
I was so glad to see this post! We are thinking of taking dd there this summer, it is not really that far away from us, maybe 2 hours. I called them last year that they were so utterly rude and obnoxious to me I was disgusted! But after reading your post I feel better. I will just take food along and let her have fun! I was there years ago and had a blast!! Have fun and let us know how it goes!!!

I just wrote them (before checking here) because I'm planning a trip there this summer, and I got the same response. While I was pleased with the promptness of their reply and their understanding of the allergy, I'm still not clear if ALL of their restaurants are peanut-free, or if they just don't use peanut oil. That is, if they don't use peanut oil but do serve PB cookies in the "Meet Cookie Monster" event, what good does it do me?
So do I press the issue and write them back, or just pack my own food and hope for the best?

We took our kids to Sesame Place this summer and had a very good experience. The food area had stuff like pizza and chicken nuggets for the kids (vegetable oil) and the adult food seemed safe too. I think it was a chicken ceasar salad. They did sell choc chip cookies but we didn't see anything that had peanut written all over it. Also, everyone is pretty clean since it is a water park anyway! My two sons, 5 and 15 months had a blast and so did we.

We visited last spring and ds had the chicken nuggets and fries with no problem. (The chicken ceaser salad was a nice surprise good amidst all the other fried stuff). I didn't notice any major nut items but they obviously sell ice cream along the park, cotton candy, popcorn which, depending on comfort zone.....
