Looking for restaurant suggestions

Hi, my husband and I will be traveling over spring break with my 2 1/2 year old PA daughter. Can you suggest any restaurants (not fast food) along major highways that are safe? I didn't know if Cracker Barrel, Applebee's, O'Charley's, Steak and Shake (sorta fast food I guess), anything like that was o.k.?

I would not trust Steak and Shake..they will not share what ingredients are in their foods.

The Applebees I tried used Peanut oil. I don't know if they all do. I too would love to learn of restaurants that ARE considered to be on the safer side.

I ate at Perkins several times when I was in the USA (but I did not eat the desserts)

We have eaten at Applebees in Erie, PA and a couple in the Harrisburg, PA area without problem. (no deserts of course)

I'm pretty sure Steak 'n Shake cooks their fries in peanut oil.

Hi:
We have eaten at Applebees and Cracker Barrel w/no problems. I am not sure what you comfort level is, though. The folks at the Cracker Barrels we went to were super nice and helpful, plus they have a lot of "meat and potatos, (ie, not fancy) " things on the menu.
As others have stated, I would double check w/the individual restraurants while you are there, but we have eaten at both of these restaurants many times. I should add that we never order the desserts.

P.S. I am not sure where you are heading, but if you are visiting the FL area (seems to be a popular U.S. springbreak place) that MANY of the seafood restaurants in FL use peanut oil.

I have had pretty good luck with TGI Fridays. They seem to be all over the place lately.

We have eaten at Applebee's, Pizza Hut and Chili's. Chili's has a few Thai-inspired entrees for adults, but we order for my PA son from the kids menu and the waitresses have been good about reading ingredients. He has had the kids pizza and mac&cheese.

We eat at O'Charleys all the time with no problem. They have a few dishes with tree nuts, but none with peanuts. My pa child has had the rolls, mac & cheese (they told me this comes to them in single serve pouches they microwave in the individual serving plates -- not quite homeade, but definitely lowers the risk of coming into contact with other foods during prep) chicken strips and fries. I always inquire about nuts if we eat at one other than our usual location.
