My dd had a Betty Crocker(Buzz Lightyear) fruit snack and shortly after she had red cheeks and she started vomitting. I gave her benadryl and she was fine. She has had those before without any problem. I looked on the package for a phone number but there wasn't one.
These are the symptoms of her(and only) first reaction but I'm not sure if this is a reaction or not. I was wondering if anyone has had a reaction to these fruit snacks before? Please help!

mom2cuties,
I am sorry to hear about your daughter - I hope she is okay.
My PA son eats the Betty Crocker Scooby-Doo and Mickey Mouse snacks all the time and has never had a reaction. We have never tried the Buzz Lightyear ones though.
The number for Betty Crocker is 1-800-328-8360.

Keep the whole rest of the box just in case they have to be tested.
If you think they may be cross-contaminated with peanut/nuts you can call:

My son just started eating these once in a while and hasn't had a problem so far, but man it sounds really like a reaction that your daughter had. I won't buy anymore until it's ruled out.
My son JohnPatrick is PA and NEVER has a problem with them. Did you read the thread on pineapple sensitivity? I also wonder if maybe she didnt have an allergic reaction but perhaps it became lodged in her throat which caused her to "panic" in a way making her red and hot and then she gagged. Just a theory. All the Best. Brigitte
I usually stick to the "Scooby Snax" but have tried the Buzz Lightyear without any problems
Hello, is your daughter maybe allergic to food dye? Just a thought.
Thanks for the number. I called Betty Crocker and they advised that they have not had any reports of reactions. They do consider the fruit snacks to be safe, however, they cannot guarentee to be 100% safe as there is always the chance of cross-contaimination. I gave the code on the box and it turns out they have been expired since Apr/02! Maybe that was the reason for her vomitting!

DS eats all betty crocker fruit snacks all the time and he has been fine. Thank God.
My daughter always has red cheeks when she vomits. I think the red cheeks is just part of vomiting, so it could be a reaction, but it seems more likely to be the flu. She has eaten quite a few kinds of Betty Crocker fruit snacks with no problem. She has had a reaction before to a different product due to very minimal cross contamination, so I know she is very sensitive. I don`t think it was the fruit snacks that caused your child to vomit, especially since there weren`t any other symptoms.
A.J. has eaten all of the Betty Crocker fruit snacks without any problems. (Mickey, Elmo, Princesses, Buzz, Scooby, and Winnie) I too think it must have been something else other than her nut allergy.
