I live in Pottsville, AR and we have a 7 year old PA daughter. I just found this wonderful site and I would be greatful for someone to talk with. It is very frustrating trying to get non PA people to understand the severity.

Thanks,
Vann'sMom

Hi. We live in Benton, AR. I have 16 month old little girl with peanut allergy and we suspect a couple more things. We go to the allergist at the Children's Hospital next Wednesday. I have mainly been lurking here and learning as much as possible. These boards are a wonderful source of infomration.

PAULA & NEALSMOM,
THANK YOU BOTH FOR REPLYING. IT WOULD MEAN SO MUCH TO BE ABLE TO TALK TO OTHER MOMS WHO KNOW HOW I FEEL.
WE HAVE HAD 2 CLOSE CALLS WITHIN THIS PAST MONTH. I AM LOOKING FOR ANY AND ALL INFORMATION POSSIBLE THAT WILL HELP ME PROTECT HER AND I GUESS JUST SOMEONE TO TALK TO WHO UNDERSTANDS.
I AM REALLY FRUSTRATED WITH THE SCHOOL SITUATION WITH THEM SERVING PB IN THE LUNCHROOM. SHE GETS TO PICK A BUDDY AND EAT IN HER CLASSROOM, BUT I AM SCARED TO DEATH UNTIL I GET HER HOME.
THANK YOU BOTH AGAIN AND I LOOK FORWARD TO HOPEFULLY VISITING WITH YOU SOON.

Hi Ladies! I'm in AR, too, and we also go to Children's. We've lived here for about a year and a half. I'm not too familiar with all the towns and cities though. I don't know where y'all are located. -oh wait, Paula, I do know where Benton is. Now I need to find a map to figure out where the rest of you are. I'm just outside of Little Rock. Maybe we could get together somewhere in between? If anyone is interested, we can make arrangments through email. My email is available through my profile, feel free to contact me! Hey girls, I am sorry it has taken me so long to respond back. I had a very busy weekend and Monday's are always rough at work. Anyway, Nealsmom, it is about 73 miles to Little Rock from Pottsville. We can usually make it in about one hour and fifteen minutes. Where exactly did you say you were from? Paula, let me know what you learn at ACH. We are very fond of that place. They have wonderful people there. My daughter had seizures when she was 4 days old. We spent over a week there. Then we have been back several times with all the allergies. Along with my daughter's PA, she also has ezcema and contact allergies. When she was 3, she started breaking out in a rash on top and under her skin. We went to several doctors here and one finally told us that she had scabies. We went to ACH and he referred us to a Dr. Guin in Little Rock. He did Patch Testing and we found out she is allergic to fragrances, leather, cobolt, aloe vera, and of course dust. As long as we keep her away from these she does fine most of the time.
I am interested to know if anyone has experience problems with Easter Egg Hunts at Church. Any ideas on how to keep them safe? I spent a long time on the phone yesterday with a Children's Church teacher. Our pastor's wife told us not to worry that they would fix my daughter something separate but she don't realize all the other dangers. I basically told them if they couldn't figure out a way to work with us that we just wouldn't come to church Easter Sunday. We can't take that chance.
Sorry to be so long. I look forward to talking to each of you. My e-mail is available on my profile too.
Thanks girls.

Well we made it through the visit to the allergist today. My baby girl did not enjoy it much though. We learned through skins tests that she was allergic to cats and white poplar trees. They drew blood for an Immuno Cap Rast and we should have the results next Friday. We will learn then the numbers on her peanut allergy. We saw Dr. Graham. She and her nurses were wonderful! I will let you all know what we find out when we get the results back.

Hello,
Vann's Mom, We live in Des Arc. It is
about 60 miles from LR. We go Monday to
Dr. Graham for a check-up. I also agree
that she and her staff are wonderful!
I pray that you will not have to miss
church on Easter. Is the Children's
Church Director having just an egg hunt,
or will there be candy also? I hate it
that our children have to miss out on so
many things!
