Does anyone know anything about a new M & M type candy from Hershey? My Mom told me she bought them and that there is nothing indicating "made in a factory" or "may contain traces", etc. regarding peanut/nut. I have trusted hershey as far as labeling goes in the past, so just wandering if these would be safe. I will try to look into this more when I see the product myself.

Maybe you are thinking of Hershey Sixlets?
We do not have them here in Canada, but I have seen many Americans posting here that theu do buy them for their nut-allergic children.
I raised a thread called "Hershey Sixlets" in the manufacturers safe/unsafe forum which will give you more information about Sixlets.

I think you may be thinking of Hershey-ettes. They used to only come out at Christmas (in the big plastic "candy canes"), but now I've seen bags of them. The ones I've seen are labeled: "Manufactured in a facility that also processes almonds." No, peanut warning, just almond. My son tested negative to almonds, but I'm still not comfortable with this product. I've had them personally and like them much better than M&M's!

If you mean the ones that *really* look like M&M's, then those are Hersheyettes. As the previous poster said, they do carry an almond warning. That is within *my* comfort zone (especially for a trusted manufacturer) & my PA child has eaten them w/ no problem.
And I agree w/ the previous poster -- they are *yummy*... much better than M&M's.
