My dd frequently gets hives with different triggers, cold weather/water are frequent culprits. These seem to be itchy, uncomfortable and resolve with Benadryl and a little time.

When she was skin tested the welt for pn became incredibly painful. I believe she may have had skin contact with trace pb recently and had a few hives that were again very painful. Has anyone noticed a difference in hives from pn verses other exposures? Itchy vs. painful?

Thanks!

Maggie

For me peanut is itchy small hives. But I have reactions to sesame seeds which are large hives and are sometimes more painful than itchy.
Don't know if this is related or not, but sesame is my more serious threat.
