In our local newspaper today there is an aritcle in which it said that Hershey foods sign agreement with SweetWorks.

In Jan 2003, Sweetworks bought the Oviation choclate brand from Hershey Foods. and that they have plans to introduce brand new product packaging this month.

Has anyone else heard of SweetWorks before? I now question if sixlets will be safe for my son to eat?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

best wishes,

I know nothing about this company, but think I might go to Target and buy a bunch of boxes in case we lose this as a choice!
Maybe the ownership will change but not the actual facility where they are made. I do think that sometimes happens if it is a free standing smaller place with a small product line.
(Edited to add): They have a website www.SweetWorks.net and I copied this off of it. Quality Control
Quality assurance and control is a significant aspect of SweetWorks' manufacturing process. Standards are high, and each plant is held responsible for the quality of its own production. The emphasis on quality control is embedded in SweetWorks' operating culture largely as a result of its contract manufacturing for giants of the industry such as Hershey, M&M/Mars and Nestlé. The stringent requirements imposed by these firms have served to raise quality control procedures to the highest levels in each SweetWorks factory.
Perhaps they have already been making the Sixlets and now will simply have ownership of the product line. I do not think they have been a big money maker for Hershey's. Just a thought. Becca
