Airborne reactions- How common?

Hi all,

My three year old PA son has several other allergies including egg, seed, rye grass, dustmite, cat, glue, latex just to name a few. Every day has been a learning curve in order to keep a handle on his allergies. The newest thing with Jedd appears to be airborne allergies, according to his allergist. There are certain places I cannot take him without him getting hives and a swollen eye. The only thing I can think of is that two of these places are oriental influenced (which I love), but perhaps the spices used in cooking and sold at these shops do, indeed become airborne. Has anyone else experience similar situations?

Check out the thread "PA Allergic to Smell or Not?" Most Asian restaurants use peanut oil in cooking. The smell of the food cooking in peanut oil has been enough to cause reactions in many PA people.
I'm not well versed in posting links in these threads to other threads, but I can bump it back up for you.

In the U.S. many asian recipes also use egg, like fried rice. That could be irritating also. My children are egg allergic and get itchy from frying egg.
