Hi Kathy Ann,
I am PA and I do eat Entenmanns baked goods. The reason I do is that the last time I checked, they did not use peanuts.
However, they do use tree nuts. I am not allergic to tree nuts so that is why this does not stop me from eating their products (I only eat the products that do not contain nuts). If I had a tree nut allergy, I probably would not eat these products, but only having PA, I do feel ok with them.
Hope this helps.
p.s. I don't think they use peanuts (they didn't use them in the past), but product lines always change so not 100% sure at this time

Kathyann & gw_mom3,
I contacted Entenmanns (USA) in the spring and was told they do not allow any peanuts in their plants, not even in the vending machines. I was pretty impressed by that statement.
Also, they said by the 2nd quarter of this year (July), all their donuts will be produced in nut free facilities.

I guess the entenmanns in our area aren't switching to nut free. I looked at the store yesterday and there was a cake with almonds in it as an ingredient. Most of the other items had no warning but did have allergens in bold. I might give them a call.

We never use Entemann's products, or Dunkin Donuts for that matter. We don't feel that they are safe. I am in NJ and we don't use Tastycake products either. Just not safe.
Sure do wish there were some safe cake/cookie products that we could trust.
Guess we will jsut have to continue baking for now.
Stay Safe everyone.

Lois:
Have you tried EnjoyLife Products? They make cookies, bagels and other baked good and you can search on their site for a store near you that carries them-- you can also order online.

Funny you should say that. I just checked their website yesterday and found 2 health food stores nearby, that do carry their products. Haven't had a chance to check them out yet, but it is certainly on my "To Do" list. Thanks for the suggestion.
Stay Safe.

Where are you located that your donuts no longer have a nut warning on them, here in Texas they STILL have a CONTAINS NUTS when I looked two weeks ago :-(
We were looking forward to them being 'safe' again!!!

We have always found their labeling to be quite good (in the Boston area) They use the "contains..." "may contains..." and "processed in..." allergen statements. I really like how specific the labels seem to be; it's nice that they don't just slap a generic "may contain" on everything.

A bit of disturbing information - I get email notices about issues regarding what's Kosher and what's not, etc. and today the alerts list included a statement about: "Entenmann's Inc. (George Weston Bakeries) Devil's Food Cake Cookies & Fudge Delights Crispy Cookies-Fudge & Peanut Butter (new product)
Company: Entenmann's Inc., Totowa, NJ"
I just emailed Entenmann's (http://www.gwbakeries.com/gen_contacts.html) and plan to call tomorrow (631)273-6000 or (800) 842-9595. If anybody else can also call, maybe we can get some valid info about this new PB product.
