Is there any safe ready-made popcorn? I know Frito-Lay makes a cheddar variety - is there a plain variety that they make or any others that are nut-safe? My son's school wants to do tasting of different types of corn products - I guess as a pre-Thanksgiving activity. Any info, ASAP would be helpful. I did a search, but couldn't come up with any solid information.

My dd eats Smartfood too. Also, Boston Lite. There is a new microwave popcorn out by Stop & Shop (Mass stores) called kettle corn. Instead of butter, it's popped in sugar and is sweet.

Thanks, everybody. Is Herr's sold in the Midwest? We're limited by the fact that it has to be Kosher, which means I can't bring it home-made (and I don't have a microwave anyway). I don't think they have a microwave there - maybe the teacher's lounge would!?
I did see "Pop Secret" microwavable by General Mills at the store today; it had an allergen statement for milk. I also bought some Robert's American Gourmet "Tings" - a new variety that are corn sticks/twists. Maybe they can replace the popcorn with that, for him at least. The Safeway brand of ready made had a peanut warning on it, and the fact that the grocery aisle sign said "Popcorn & Nuts" didn't bode well!

In my search online, I came across this:
Snack Review: Herr's Caramel Popcorn With Peanuts
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Categories: Caramel Corn (25 reviews) | Caramel Snacks (27 reviews) | Nuts (32 reviews) | Popcorn (109 reviews)
Taste: This is decent caramel corn with peanuts, but most people who tried it agreed that Cracker Jax are better.
Aroma: Nice caramel corn and peanut smell.
Manufacturer: Herr Foods Inc.
HAS anybody called Herr's about cross-contamination?

My son loves the Vic's regular (not the low salt one). It is really good and they have a caramel one and a butter one too.
