As someone else said we are pretty lucky people. Everything is controllable in a way. claire
We are allergic to nothing except peanuts.
Occasionally, we will have to have a decadron shot in the fall or early spring, but nothing else has shown up on allergy tests. Jim ,my husband, will sometimes break out with a rash but the doctor decided it was not allergies. Puzzling? huh Cammie
On my list are peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, egg, milk, fish and some tropical fruits, among others.

Interesting that you didn`t think wheat would be one of yours and it turned out to be. What do you make of that? You really have a long list of restrictions. One of my two PA kids has a long list also, but not as long as yours. I don`t let him eat restaurant food either. Wheat is a really hard one to avoid, probably harder than any of the others. My son lived on pasta until we figured out he was allergic to wheat. Are you going to make big changes in your diet because of it or keep eating it since wheat hasn`t given you sypmtoms in the past?
dad of three:
Good questions.
I already knew something was up given reactions to several foods, but before the testing last month, even my allergist doubted that I could be allergic to so many foods. When he saw the results, he finally believed me. (Doctors are such numbers people. Now he has his numbers. )

Well, I have to say that my son`s "long" list is nowhere near as long as yours. One is allergic to peanuts, some tree nuts(we avoid all tree nuts of course), egg, and wheat. The other is just PA. My daugher has no allergies, thank goodness. I know families with different kids all with different allergies, and they either have to unnecessarily restrict everyone`s diet or serve each kid a different meal.
The one who is only PA is a breeze to manage, compared to the other. The one with multiple food allergies eats a lot of rice and chicken. Fortunately, no one in our family is allergic to soy. When you are allergic to so many things and have to use substitutes, soy is hard to avoid. My wife cooks almost everything at home, but we do use some processed foods. We just read the ingredients and watch for those "may contains". However, your situation is totally different because your list is really much longer. Our allergist told us the absolute least allergenic food is rice. It is so unfortunate that you are allergic to it. And apples seem like a really unusual allergen, too. It must be really hard for you to figure out what to eat. We haven`t given any of our kids shellfish, because it just seems so high risk. One hope for you is that our allergist says within a few years there should be some sort of a shot for people with severe food allergies. It seems like someone like you would be a prime candidate, since it`s not like you just have to avoid one or two foods. That would really make your life much easier.
Exactly. (re: being a good candidate for the anti-Ige shots)
In truth, though, rice is a major allergen in Asia. (I'm not Asian, though) In North America, peanut seems to be the major offender.
