Does anyone know of any support groups for those of us out in the far west suburbs of Chicago? I called one in Naperville that is through FAAN, but they don't have any meetings scheduled. I would like to simply get together with some other families of children that have PA. My son has a PA, milk allergy and fish allergy.

I've started a support group in Oak Park - I know it's not far enough west for you, but you might make some contacts. Our next meeting is Feb. 7 and a clinical psychologist from Children's is speaking on "Coping with Stress in Families with Children Who have Allergies" - the meeting is at the Dole Branch of the Oak Park Public Library, 255 Augusta, 7:00 pm. $10 per couple includes year's membership in our Parents of kids with allergies group. She's great! The one meeting alone will be worth more than the price of membership!
We now meet the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00 pm.

The area around Wheaton college would be good for me too. It's about 1/2 hour from my town.

Dear jojoann, The reason I am writing is because my 18 year old PA son will be going to college there next year and I so want him to have a like-minded family nearby for support! It does not matter to me what age your Pa family member is. It would just be wonderful to have somebody close by that understands! My sister lives in Milwaukee and I have a cousin in Chicago but they don't have the allergy, they just love their nephew. I hope you are interested. Gennie
