Hang in there. My son has has 14 food restrictions. Now he's down to 7 (counting all shellfish and all treenut as once each)
Dairy and wheat was the hardest. Your son's other scores are lots lower than my son's. Peanut 100+ too. My son is 11. Wouldn't it be great to cook cakes or cookies with egg. Someday, someday, soon.
His scores have increased at times too.
I'm in process of moving this weekend don't know when I'll get chance to get back on line. Just wanted to encourage you and to let you know most kids outgrow egg long before my son's current age. He's a very atopic child.

From age 1 year, 7 months to 2 years 8 months my son grew out of his soy and egg allergies...perhaps things will be better at age 3 for your son. Good luck.

did you elimate the food 100% from the diet?
I've been doing my best eliminating, but
I don't know what I would do without
McDonald's french fries for my son every
once in a while, but they have soy oil in it.

Check with your doctor. My son ate tons of McDonalds French Fries. He had NO problem with soy oil at all. He also tolerated soy lethicin with no issues. We fed him anything with soy oil, just not soy protein. He used to have severe gastro-intestinal reactions to soy protein(he would throw up for hours). We did eliminate all soy protein.
From everything I read, MOST soy allergic people can tolerate soy oil...the processing is so high that all the protein is destroyed.
Over time we introduced egg items that were VERY cooked (like cakes that are baked over 45 minutes, but NOT pancakes which are cooked for only a few minutes...actually we made pancakes without eggs, and they turned out just fine...whoops, forget pancakes, you have a wheat issues too (my son tested positive for wheat, but never showed any reaction)). I have a great "cookie" recipe with only oatmeal, oil, cinnamon and banana for ingredients. They don't keep well, so I make big batches and freeze them, and my older son calls them "cold cookies". They are so healthy, I let them eat them for breakfast if we are on the run.

san103, you really clarified something for me in your post. It's the soy protein which is the problem for the soy allergic.
Do you know what I would look for on a label to detect the soy protein? Would I look for anything other than soybean oil & soybean lecithin assuming those 2 ingredients don't pose a problem for the soy allergic?

Yes we took all that food out of diet until doctor deamed it ok to do food challenge. we avoid smells of his current allergens as extra safety and extra chance of reducing his scores.
We didn't do French fries for 6 years as he we allergic to white potato and outgrew his soy before the white potato. He loves safe fries now- though he knows we always ask about what else may have been fried in that oil- ie shellfish, or breaded food (egg or sesame seed likely in that)

Elaine, my son used to be allergic to soy and egg also. He was able to tolerate McD's fries. He could also tolerate egg ingredients in a processed food, but nothing with fresh eggs (like a home-baked cake). He completely outgrew his soy allergy and his egg allergy got worse (couldn't tolerate any kind of egg) and then he eventually completely outgrew it...all within 3 years.
I'll dig out the cookie recipe and post in the next day or so (I mix it off the top of my head now, but I would never post just from my memory!)
With regards to soy ingredients. If it said vegetable protein I assumed it was soy. There were a few other soy hints too...I have a list somewhere. For us, soy oil and soy lethicin were A-OK.
Interesting, I met another woman with a soy allergic son...until she met me she let her son eat things with soy oil, but not soybean oil...she thought they were different things, but as far as I know they are not. Now her son happily eats things with both soy oil and soybean oil.

I will now look out for vegetable protein. My son only tested 2+ for soy on his skin prick test and negative a year before to it on a RAST test. He did however toss up his soy formula the 2 different times I tried it on him as an infant. Hard to know for sure when you have a "reflux" baby. It just seems as though he is reacting more to foods these days and I'm not sure what exactly is not agreeing with him.
If you get a chance I'd really appreciate having your hints on soy if you find your list. I can then add it to my evergrowing list! Thanks again for your help!
