Since our 14 month old son has PA, my husbdand and I (and virtually our whole family) has given up peanuts and tree in any form. The problem is we all LOVE chocolate. We are all so worried that we can't even bring ourselves to eat anything that "may contain." I called Hershey regarding their Kisses and they are indeed safe. Additionally, I noticed no warning on Peppermint Patties and Rolos, but I haven't called on these to confirm. Just something to sweeten up you day!

Did they tell you that the kisses were just peanut safe or did they say all nuts? In the past they couldn't guarantee me that the kisses were tree-nut safe.

Good point - just peanuts. I am new at this so I forget to ask about tree nuts and sesame too. Thanks, I will call them again.

My son is also allergic to almonds so both allergens are always on my brain. If it turns out that they are not safe, you can always order a "look alike" Hershey kiss from Vermont Nut Free.

Nutty Mama:
I forgot to add that I also love chocolate and also don't have anything unsafe in my house. If you haven't checked it out already take a look at PanhandlePremium.com You can order safe Nestle candy bars (Aero, Smarties, Coffee Crisp, Kit Kat are safe-they are made in Canada on safe and dedicated lines). And as I said before VermontNutFree makes really yummy chocolate too.

Since my son is TNA as well I avoid Hershey Kisses. We order Vermont Nut Free's version - so much better than Hershey's (I swear they don't pay me to plug their products, but I really do think they are fabulous). The first time I tasted one of their dark chocolate kisses, I actually cried!
Can you tell I really, really like chocolate?

Thank you for all of the tips! I just ordered some things from Vermont Nut Free Choc. And I LOVE Nestle so I will look at that site next.

I ordered some VNF and planned on putting it my dd's stocking. Well, there is one package with only a few left! I do not even have the allergy, but their chocolate is very good, I cannot keep my hands out of the bag! I am saving some for her! becca
