Thank you so much for the warning! I have heard such great things about Wendy's but that salad would be poison for us.

saw the wendys commercial and it is almonds and a sesame dressing for sure. Wonder if we could send a bunch of e-mails to restaurantsand explain our plight. I have now not eaten out in 6 months since my last reaction at a restaurant was anaphalactic I was almost getting up enough courage to go to wendys and then they came out with these salads. How depressing.

Macer-
Sounds like a great idea. What a shame to ruin such a functional place for all the PA people.

The dressing that I saw for a BLT salad was in a packet which was good news. I am concerned about the almonds and pecans, but for a PA I was more concerned with the sesame dressing. I was going to ask for a packet to look at the ingredient listing, but it was lunch time and very crowded. Supposedly the salads are only being test marketed, so it only involves a handful of Wendy's right now. Perhaps emails to Wendy's headquarters requesting the almonds and pecans to be enclosed in packets would be a good thing, since the salads are not yet mass marketed. Anyone have the email address for Wendy's? I'd appreciate it.

ryan's mom, why were you concerned about the sesame dressing for pa folks? Are you assuming that it has peanut oil, or do you know of some cross sensitivity between peanut and sesame allergies?

I'm concerned with peanut oil in the dressing. Particularly if a relative gets it on their hands or lips and holds his hand in the parking lot or kisses him if peanut oil is in the dressing. I just like to know what's in these things so we can exercise caution. Our relatives are understanding but truly do not understand the daily impact that a PA has on parents and family.

I'm just raising this again. I just found out about this a few days ago. They have a salad with almonds and one with pecans! I think they're new in my area.
Anyone know about cross-contamination?

I spoke with a rep named Jana at Wendy's customer service today.

She informed me that their salads with nuts are pre-packaged (not at salad bar). She also clarified that the nuggets and fries are in partially hydrogenated soybean or corn or cottonseed oil.
She told me that Wendys is PN/TN free!
I have never taken my PA child there yet and would like to.
Anyone out there want to call and confirm this info?? I would like to hear about others experiences with Wendys..Thanks!!

We've eaten at Wendy's for about three years without problem. I wasn't aware about nuts in their salads until recently, and when I phoned to find out about how they are handled the girl assured me that the nuts are pre-packaged as in MacDonalds.
In fact I didn't even have to explain my question. As soon as I said "nuts" she knew what I was about to ask. That's good. It means that there is a level of awareness there.
As far as I know, Canada Burger King is still PN/TN free.

These salads are being offered here in Mississippi, also. I ordered one a few weeks ago. They are in a plastic bowl with top, and prepared before delivery to our Wendy's.
My son is pa, and we have eaten at Wendy's with no problems. They do not cook with peanut oil, and are very understanding to being asked each and every time we eat there!
