Here is a link to the Manufacturers Forum discussion on the above initiative:
Our objective is to get large companies to directly address our concerns about their products by posting here at
The discussion includes the names of other companies we think it would be beneficial to contact. Please add your input to the discussion!
I sent my email this morning through the Kellogg's website. If you don't want to type a separate email, you are welcome cut and paste mine. It's the large volume of contact we are hoping will draw their attention! Good luck!

If anyone's interested in copying (I always am), this is the email I sent to our family and friends:
Family & Friends of Max
I am a member of, a group which, among other things, tries to raise manufacturers awareness of peanut allergies. Many manufacturers do not adequately label their products which may have been exposed to trace amounts of peanuts. This is a big health risk for a peanut allergic person.
During the week of March 26-March 30 we are emailing Kelloggs to request that they answer a couple of questions regarding the safety of their products and labeling practices in regards to peanut allergies.
Proctor & Gamble posted a response on our web site a few weeks ago in response to a massive amount of email they received from members of our site who were concerned that there may be peanut oil in Tide, Bounce, and Downey.
We are inviting everyone who has a peanut allergic person in their life to join our effort. The Kelloggs link is (go to CONTACT US). Following is a shortened version of the email we are using:
I am interested in how safe your products are for peanut allergic individuals. Would you consider selecting a company representative to post a response at to the following concerns?
1. Which or your cereals are considered safe for peanut allergic individuals?
2. The current bar code labeling in difficult to read. Are you considering replacing the codes with written allergy information under the ingredients list?
To post a response, please go to www. and register. Then post your reponse under our Manufacturers (Food) Safe Unsafe Forum. Thank you.
Please let me know if you have any problems/questions and Thanks
I emailed to Kelloggs the full version of Cayley's Mom's email (which I thought was great), but shortened for others.
The more emails (or calls/letters) Kelloggs receives, the better!

nonutshere - Amazing! What a great idea!! I will forward your email to my family - it's a lot easier for them to send email than make phone calls on my behalf.
Thank you so much!
Thanks everyone for taking the time to do this!

Wow, how much easier could you have made it for us? I just sent my email.
I very rarely stray from main discussion, living with pa, and off topic so thank you for putting this here. I'll check out the other link now. Great job Carolyn!
