Good idea Eileen - so many of us eat there from time to time and I know many have had bad experiences.
Cayley's Mom - has there been further discussion that I may have missed regarding ConAgra and which products we are going to target? I haven't run across anything but fear I may just be missing it. I'm getting somewhat confused with the various sections everyone is posting under.
EILEEN - Yes indeed, McDonald's needs to train their staff to be more allergy aware. Consider them on The List.
Philip's Mom - I agree. The unfortunate timing of our idea BEFORE the Action Forum was created, has made things a bit confusing. There is currently a ConAgra thread in the Manufacturers Forum, started by Going Nuts (Amy) with contact information. My impression is that we're going to focus on Kelloggs this week and ConAgra next week.
Not contacting them next week, just sorting out the different subsidiaries of ConAgra and prioritizing the order of contact.
I will ask Amy to move the thread over to the Action Forum, so we can focus all our efforts, henceforth, from there.
EVERYONE - I think it would be easiest for all future Email campaigns to originate and stay in the Action Forum. A post will be neccessary on the Main Discussion Board to direct people to the current Email Campaign taking place in the Action Forum, but no posting should take place on the Main Discussion Board. A note in the Main Discussion "directing" thread should note that to keep things organized, posting should ONLY be done in the ONE thread on that particular email campaign, in the Action Forum. Sound good?
I would also like to tackle the "March of Dimes," since they are unresponsive at present about possible in utero sensitization and are actively promoting pb for pregnant women as a source of of the vitamin Bs (I think) to reduce birth defects.
I can generate a master list of some relevant scientific refs and news articles to give us something of a form letter to that everyone can personalize with their own point of view.
Also, it would be great to have lots of letters sent to the March of Dimes relating the anguish and guilt many of us have gone through of the amount of pb we consumed while pregnant and even if there is no definite proof yet re in utero sensitization I think preganany women at risk should be made aware of controversy and an informed choice about what they eat while pregnant!
Cyley's mom, how do you move a whole thread?
EILEEN - I'm pretty sure only Chris can move entire threads from one forum to the next. I've asked Amy to send him an email requesting that the ConAgra thread be moved over here. Whether that means copied or moved and deleted from its original spot remains to be seen.
Getting things streamlined might take a while, but it'll happen. Hopefully things won't be duplicated and confused too much longer. I concerned with spreading ourselves too thin, as well.
I'm glad we finally have this Forum to group everything together.
Yes, I'm sure it will take time to get things rolling along but I will e-mail Chris to ask him to e-mail everyone "on the books" (many of whom probably don't visit the boards every day/week or whatever) to let them know about this new board, may get more interest that way.
