Has anyone ever served their PA child this brand of Rice? I have never tried it and it doesn't have a warning on the package of any kind. Thanks.

I do. I called once (though it was about a year ago) and they told me that they do not use any nuts in any of their products although they didn't know about their suppliers. I considered this a CYA answer. Anyway, we use them regularly and have never had any reactions of any kind. Of note, the other rice brand I use is Goya. They basically told me the same thing.

I switched to these two brands because the brand I used to use, Near East, uses shared equipment with pecan and no dedicated lines. That was a while back and this may have changed but I haven't rechecked.

I hope this helps!

Thanks for the information on Near East! I use it all the time, I'll have to call. Oh, darn, I love their rice pilaf!

If you call Near East, please let me know what kind of response you get. As I said it's been quite a while since I called so it's possible that they have changed their policies and are safe now.

I just called today about their microwaveable red beans and rice with sausage complete dinner.

They do not make any products with peanuts or treenuts so without promising 100% safety, it sounds very safe.

DS is also allergic to shellfish and they do make products that contain shellfish. She is checking to see whether it is on a shared line and will call me back today or tomorrow. I'll let you know what I hear.

I use the Jambalaya rice mix from Zatrains with no problems. I add chicken and mixed veggies (frozen peas, carrots, corn, green beans) and sometimes kielbasa. My DD loves it!
